Bible in a Year

One goal I have for 2011 is to read through the Bible.  I did this a couple years ago, and know that I need to do this again.  I love the feeling of being familiar with God's word you get by reading each and every word.  I have been doing most of my reading on my iPhone {gotta love the portability of this option} and use the Olive Tree Bible Program from the app store.  To track what I have read I use ReadingPlan by James Price that I also got from the app store.

About Me

Hey there ~

I am a fun loving, Christian, mom of two, wife to one, living in the middle of nowhere in God's Country (Texas).  I enjoy reading, crafting, horseback riding, and gazing off into nowhere contemplating.  This blog is where I can document the different books I read, my thoughts on them, and if I will be reading that book or books by that author in the future.

The standard things I look at when reviewing are:
{fiction books}
1)  Do I want to read this book again?
2)  Were the characters believeable?
3)  How predictable was the plot?
4)  Language/Hanky Panky

{non-fiction books}
1)  Do I want to read this book again?
2)  What style of writing is used?  Readability?
3)  Does the topic uplift or depress the reader?
4)  Is it unique in the viewpoints expressed?

Obligatory First Post

Here is the obligatory, awkward first post.  The post where no one knows about your blog, or will ever read far enough back to read the post.

If you have gotten this far I will share a secret with you... I started this blog when I found myself enjoying posting book reviews on The Spunky Diva blog.  So, I decided to start a blog just for book reviews.  I haven't decided yet how much time or effort I am going to spend on this blog.  I am thinking of keeping it to myself, LOL!

You can find my first book review posts over at The Spunky Diva by this link which goes directly to the book reviews posted there.
